ABOUT US

A selection of our wedding photos are now online! View the gallery on our wedding page.

After progressing to gold medal standards in Rock 'n' Roll jive, we discovered Lindyhop in the early 1990s and immediately got the (jitter) bug!! We started teaching in earnest in 1996. Our teaching emphasis is on technique and style but mainly on having fun!!

Through our dancing and re-enacting we have been involved in a wide range of events and projects. We regularly take part in vintage flying days at the Imperial War Museum at Duxford and steam railway events and 1940's weekends all over the country. We have participated in the recording and filming of several radio, television and film productions (documentaries, drama and a soap!). We have been involved in education and outreach projects for various museums and schools.

It was a great honour and privilege to be invited to take part in HRH the Queen Mother's 100th birthday pageant. Another highlight was appearing at the Royal Albert Hall for the Festival of Remembrance.

It is a pleasure to welcome Julie & Rowley on to the C&BLE team. They are already well-known faces at dances and re-enactment events.

We have also taught in Norwich, Milton Keynes, Hampshire, Switzerland and Germany and have travelled to Malta with the RAF re-enactment group. The most extreme Lindyhop was taught at 75°35' South in the Antarctic at minus 15°C - the coolest Lindyhop lesson EVER we suspect!

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Paul and Faé for their help with C&BLE over the past few years and wish them well with their future endeavours on the dancing scene.

Whether we are giving dance demonstrations at private parties or appearing in character in front of thousands of people we bring history to life!
